Soviet sea ballistic systems. The developme nt of missile systems based on ballistic missiles launched from t he decks of submarines (SLBM) was one of the fields of the arms r ace in the Cold War. The race between the United States and the S oviet Union in this regard from the outset has been in the vanguard of technological progress associated with the rivalry between two superpowers, and one of the strongest engines. Competition for marine missile systems in both countries contributed to the emergence of new industries, and also provides new technologies for other applications - both military and civilian (including space).
